GO FOR BREAKFAST IN OVARIAN CANCER MONTH
February is Ovarian Cancer month. This year the GO Research Fund is launching the GO for breakfast campaign to raise awareness into ovarian cancer and raise funds for research into a diagnostic test. A test will make earlier diagnosis and treatment of ovarian cancer possible and ensure better health outcomes for sufferers.
You can be part of GO for breakfast in two ways.
GO for breakfast at Parliament House
Join us for breakfast at Parliament House on Thursday 25 February from 8-9.15. Hear about the research we are doing into ovarian cancer. Our new ambassador, Dani Samuels, the youngest ever world champion for the discus event will talk about what it takes to succeed in her field.

GO for your own breakfast
You can host your own breakfast at any time in February or March. This can be at home, at work or wherever you want – at the beach or in a park. Invite friends and colleagues to join you for breakfast and ask them to make a donation to the GO Research Fund. You can add a raffle or auction if you’d like. It’s up to you.

"A NIGHT WITH FRANK AND JEAN" - SATURDAY 27 JUNE 2009 PHOTOS
What a fabulous night it was at the Waverton Bowling Club on 27 June where family and friends of The San’s Gynae Girls came together to raise money for the GO Research Fund.
Hosted by the wonderful Jean Kittson, there was no end of talent during the evening to delight and amuse the audience. With Dave Wary (aka Frank Bannett) doing Sinatra repertoires and Lesley Hancock disguised as Rose Porteous Hancock, there was nothing but the sound of laughter from all 145 guests.
Sally Goss, the Gynae Support Group Project Co-orindator at The San, spoke of her work with the Gynae Girls and one of the Girls herself, Jennifer McCann, left the audience inspired by her own incredible journey with gynaecological cancer.
The powerful insight by Professor Neville Hacker, Director of Gynaecological Cancer at the Royal Hospital for Women and founder of the GO Research Fund, left the audience with far greater understanding of the need for early detection, education and awareness of this cancer and, of course, about the incredible work of the Fund.
Many thanks to the generosity of all who attended, and the enticing auction and raffle items gathered by Jennifer, a successful night all round.
Sincere thanks also go to Jay Lee and his team at the Waverton Bowling Club for being so accommodating in the lead up to the event.
